Christmas Time

Well, it's Christmas time and everyone is excited as usual. Pops is excited as well, as I get to travel back to Texas next week and see all my children and grands. I found out Farrah is having a girl in May of 2009 so will add to my granddaughter population with Savanna Racquel. That will give me three grandgirls and 6 grand boys, whew!!!!!!! You know, Christmas could get expensive some day with all those teenagers coming. Hope Pops can keep up with the times. I have put in for a position back in Waco so hopefully will get to move back and be closer to all my children and grands. Never knew how much i mmissed them until i moved here.

THANKSGIVING?

Doesn't seem like Thanksgiving, at least the turkey day I am used to. There's no family around, no leftovers, I;'m working, not watching football, just a cold day like 34 degrees. In Waco, Lubbock, or El Paso, the weather is around 60-70 degrees and nice and warm. In all those places, I have family to spend the holidays with. It's my own fault I am here, but that does not change the facts as I have stated them. I did eat turkey yesterday at the Veteran's Administration in Grand Island, Ne., but............still missed all the things mentioned above, especially the kids and grandkids. I don't have any pictures to post, no funny quips about happenings, or any good stuff. I am going to make an effort to make it to Texas or close by for T[giving next year, just hope it works out. I did get to call and talk to almost everyone. My youngest daughter, who hated that i missed her wedding, i didn't get to talk to. She and her mom were making potatoes at the time I called so.................Then today, or yesterday, I got some disturbing news about my oldest daughter Cathe. I hope it is not true what is being said about her new boyfriend, because she would have gone from bad to worse as men go if so. I may just have to go to Dallas unannounced and see for myself. Oh woe be unto him...........

I tried today talking to my Chief of Police about the new detective job coming open here in Grand Island. He informed me I was not qualified yet because I had to have this job for 90 days and............I would have to go to Little Rock, Ark again to be certified as a firearms instructor, PR24 baton instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. I advised him.......NEVER MIND.......cause that baton and defensive tactics instructors jobs involve getting thrown around alot and throwing others a lot for a week each. I just don't think my almost 60 year old body can handle that. It was a good thought though since it would be working both shifts and some weekends but you could wear civilian clothes, not have to wear that heavy gear every day, and could grow my fu manchu back. Oh well, it was a thought, just a thought.

WACKO VISIT

I HAD A VISITOR FROM WACO THIS LAST WEEKEND, DEBORAH WEAVER RN. SHE AND I ENJOY GOING TO THE CASINO TOGETHER SO WE DROVE TO COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA WHERE THEY HAVE THREE OR FOUR CASINOS. WE HUNG OUT AT THE HORSESHOE CASINO AND SPENT OUR MONEY THERE. AT LEAST I DID, SHE WON MONEY ON SLOTS. I LOST MONEY ON OMAHA, TEXAS HOLD EM, SLOTS, AND ANYTHING ELSE I WANTED TO TRY. OH WELL.........CAN'T TAKE IT WITH ME. WILL SURELY GO BACK AND TRY AGAIN SOMETIME BUT HAVE TO WAIT FOR INCOME TAX RETURN FOR SURE. NO PICS TO POST AS I AM AT WORK, AND CAN'T GET TO THEM RIGHT NOW.

Nebraska!!

YIKES, I am in Nebraska, Grand Island to be exact. I like it here but am sure a long way from all my kids and gkids. I will return in a couple of years if a job is open there at the time. I got moved in and finally unpacked today. I had to buy a new microwave, but the old one was falling apart for a while now. I miss all my friends and loved ones very much from El paso, to Las Cruces, West, Dallas, Waco, Lubbock and everywhere else they may live.

Port Aransas

Vanessa, Jonathan, and the kids and I loaded up a couple of weeks ago and went to Port Aransas, thanks to my very good friend Rita H. or L. They had a beautiful condo there for rent at a reasonable price if you are interested. Rita@angelfiremountainrealty.com will get u there. If she turns you over to Addie, her daughter, she is great too so rent and enjoy. It is a beautiful place and sleeps 10. I tried to get the rest of my kids and grandkids to join us, but it was too far for some of them. I understand that, just wish they could have stayed with us too. Vanessa wants to go back some day so I gave her Rita's info in case she still wants to next year. I am going to try and include some photos I got if I can call them up from the office. Oh yeah, this is my last day in Texas, at least for a while. I am moving to Nebraska, grand island to be exact, and 3820 state st apt. E11 68803. If anyone wants to write or come by, feel free. Can't get to the pics yet, so will try when I get home.

This week, I started emailing Rita. She was my real first girlfriend in High School. I really thought I loved her, but treated her like dirt when I dusted her off for Carol Tilley, a buxom beauty too and very sexy. But since talking to Rita this week, I have realized that the way I treated her was unacceptable. If anyone had treated my daughters that way, I would have been most upset. I have found out more about our relationship this week than I could have imagined. She really did love me and was excited about just going to the prom with me. That makes me feel even worse. I know you shouldn't dwell on the past, but just knowing what happened, makes me somehow......................feel unworthy for her and yet it settles my mind about why she married such a loser in Mr. Hurley. I had no idea!!!!!!!!!! She really could have the one, but I blew that, then she did. I was getting mail from her when I was in the Navy, then it stopped and I didn't know why until my mom told me she got married. You talk about stunned, when I found out to whom. I had asked her twin sister Rhonda about her a few times when I would see Rhonda on the street but never really got into the story. I just wanted to share or get it off my chest by typing the words to see if it makes sense to me and it doesn't.........................
